UX Considerations Informed by AI Conversational Platforms

This project introduced an AI-based knowledge search experience
for users of the Israeli Planning Administration.
The UX approach was informed by research and analysis of leading AI conversational platforms,
including ChatGPT, focusing on how users initiate, sustain,
and benefit from AI-driven questioning.

Based on observed patterns, I formed the hypothesis
that users are more likely to engage with AI search when given relevant, low-effort entry points.
To support this, I defined four contextual prompt suggestions
whom I researched from real questions submitted to the Planning Administration —
representing the topics users most frequently ask about.
These prompts were positioned directly beneath the primary search bar to encourage exploration and conversation.

The search component was intentionally designed as a dominant, highly visible element —
clearly calling users to action and signaling a shift from traditional search toward conversational interaction.

UI Concept for Calm, Focused AI Interaction

The UI concept was designed to enable fluent, uninterrupted conversations with the AI engine.

I intentionally kept the interface clean and restrained to minimize distraction,
while introducing subtle, contemporary 3D elements to add depth and visual interest.
These elements create an associative link to the worlds of planning and construction,
supporting the UX without competing with the conversational flow.

This combination allows the experience to feel calm yet engaging,
contemporary yet accessible — supporting AI-based knowledge discovery in a complex informational domain.
